A real woman…

….Loves the Lord with everything she has. (Mark 12:30)

….Dresses modestly because of  her love for her brothers in Christ so as to help them not stumble. (1 Corinthians 10:32)

….Knows that beauty comes from within. It’s not about what’s on the outside. (1 Peter 3:3-4)

….Is compassionate. (Proverbs 31:20

….Isn’t afraid to be strong in the Lord. (Proverbs 31:25)

….Is joyful! (Psalm 27:6) Joy isn’t the same as happiness.

A real woman

….Is respected and has dignity.(Proverbs 31:25)

….Is able to LAUGH! (Proverbs 31:25)

….Speaks with wisdom and is there for you to talk to. (Proverbs 31:26)

….Stands up for those who can’t stand up for themselves! She thinks of others. (Proverbs 31:8)

….Doesn’t bring hurt or damage to those she loves. (Proverbs 31:12)

….Does not quarrel. (Proverbs 19:13)

….Works hard for the Lord. (Romans 16:12)

….Submits to her husband. (Ephesians 5:22)

….Isn’t a gossip. (1 Timothy 3:11)

….Thinks of good things. She doesn’t fill her head with things that don’t matter. (Phillipians 4:8)

A real woman…

….Is respected. (Proverbs 11:16)

….Respects the men in her life and ultimately respects her husband. (Ephesians 5:33)

….Prays! (Ephesians 6:18)

….Forgives the unforgivable and forgives always. (Matthew 18:21-22)

A real woman…

….Is not bitter. (Hebrews12:15)

….Appreciates and understands that her father is in authority over her and respects him for it. (Ephesians 5:33-6:3)

….Is okay with being single and puts her future life in God’s hands. She waits on the Lord to put her husband in her life. (Philippians 4:11)

….Knows that sex is for marriage only and guards her heart and her body. (1 Corinthians 6:18, Proverbs 4:23)

….Knows that she isn’t perfect, that she is sinful and that Jesus is her only sustainer. (Romans 3:23, Psalm 3)

Wow. I am hopelessly flawed as a woman. Writing this has humbled me and made me realize that I have a lot to work on! As do all of us. Just remember that we are still human and we aren’t superwomen. No woman can be ALL of these things ALL of the time. But wait for the girl who strives towards these things. You can’t look for the “perfect” girl, but you can wait for God to bring you the woman who longs to be a woman of God.
