Like everyone, I have known fear.  When I was young and waiting to be adopted, I didn’t know if the next place would be worse than where I was at right then.  I felt like David sitting in a cave hiding from a jealous King Saul.  David felt abandoned and full of fear. (1 Samuel).  David asked God to be delivered from his fears (Psalm 34:4).

I was to young to realize God could help.  I was blessed to be sent to a Christian family and soon came to know the Lord.  “Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:8) My fears were exchanged for refuge in the Lord.

If you feel fear or abandoned, first seek the Lord.  Share with Him your worries.  Then ask the Lord to deliver you from them.  God cares about His people.

(Chorus of The Way I Was Made, by Chris Tomlin)

I want to live like there’s no tomorrow

I want to dance like no one’s around

I want to sing like nobody’s listening

Before I lay my body down

I want to give like I have plenty

I want to love like I’m not afraid

I want to be the man I was meant to be

I want to be the way I was made.

Thank you Lord for letting me love like I’m not afraid and for delivering me from my fears so I can be the way I was meant to be.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares what happens to you.”

1 Peter 5:7
