Esther is by far my favorite book of the Bible. It teaches us that God made us just how he wants and that EVERYTHING about us is made for a purpose. The story of Esther is about a young Jewish girl who was chosen by the king to be his queen because of her beauty, “Esther, was lovely in form and features” (Esther 2:7) but let’s stop here for a second. I have noticed that the Bible doesn’t call out somebody’s looks unless it is important. Therefore, we should assume that this is relevant to the rest of the story. After she is made queen she was told that there is a plot to kill all the Jews. She had to go to the king unsummoned (which pretty much meant death back then) and tell him about the plot, hoping and praying that he would stop it. Now, let’s go back to her looks. If she hadn’t been “lovely in form and features” then she wouldn’t have been chosen, and the entire race of Jews would have been killed! WOW! Talk about God being in control!

For me, this story is a wow moment! Everything about me, down to what I look like, was made for a purpose by God. He made me tall for a reason, He made me outgoing for a reason, He made me loud for a reason! Take a look at yourself. What are some thing’s that God put within you, that makes you specifically you, that He will use to glorify Himself? Are you artistic? Are you shy? Are you kind? Whatever you are, God made! You are no accident and nothing about you was made by mistake! Isn’t that incredible?!
