Anger and bitterness separate us from our creator God. It builds up a wall that isn’t easily torn down. In my opinion, these two things are two of the hardest things to wrestle through.

I recently have struggled with both. A situation came up with a friend and in the end, our friendship ended bitterly leaving us both questioning what happened. I became angry and bitter toward him. Even to the point of not being able to pray for him.

When anger and bitterness enter our lives, prayer and forgiveness is the only way out. We must reach a point where we let God take full control and allow Him to handle it. Our job is to forgive. But full forgiveness doesn’t just happen because you say “they are forgiven.” It happens when you decide to love like Christ loves us. That doesn’t mean the pain will be gone, but it means the damage has been forgiven.

“Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to 7 times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you not seven times, but seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:21-22)
